Friday Five

1. Week two of school. Son's having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Heck, so am I! Loving his student center and amazing teachers! Mary Hering who rocks theater and is also his writing teacher this year. Son is on the yearbook staff too. **Taking after his mom! I was on my middle school newspaper staff when in the 8th grade. Son though wants to be the photographer! This will be a great experience for him.

2. Have some awesome news to share...next Monday!

3. Loving my new hang out on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

4. Been totally addicted to MTV's CATFISH

There's just something fascinating about seeing these people actually meet who they've been texting for the first time. At first you'd think, "Don't people know better?" But in our social media society, it's so easy to have 'friends' online without meeting them. It's like Nev said about his own 'catfish' encounter with Megan, a woman he fell for while texting. That yes, he should have known better but when someone tells you something about themselves, you don't think to check out to see if in fact it's true or not.

5. What's my Friday Five without books?

This week started reading this one:

This is an amazing twist on the whole 'What if the older sister of Anne Frank survived the concentration camps and ended up living in the US?' Love the writing and characters.

Finished this one:

Love this multicultural dystopia with one kickass Native American heroine.

My YA Books Central review: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17946249-killer-of-enemies

Teaser: KILLER OF ENEMIES introduces readers to a harsh, unforgiving future of haves and have nots. Seventeen-year-old Lozen is Chiricahua Apache and a prisoner of Haven. She's a hunter of the monsters that were unleashed after a mysterious cloud came and changed her world. She has to hunt the monsters or else her family will be killed. Lozen might come across as hard and unfeeling but she has special gifts that help her survive. She, and others within Haven, realize she's 'special' and want her silenced. But fate might have other things in store for her.

Was really excited to get this one in the mail:

I was a huge fan of the first book:

As a matter of fact it was on my top 2012 Cybils picks for YA Sci/Fi/ Fantasy novels.

It's about an Amish girl who 'questions' her faith right when something horrific hits the world as she knows it. Loved it and can't wait to see what happens to the protagonist during her banishment from the only home she knows.

**Guilty pleasure:

Agent Sara Megibow posted this book trailer up yesterday.

I seriously want to read this book!

Also hope to grab my Fall favorite drink: Salted Caramel Frap at Starbucks. **Starbucks rocks the iced drinks while Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf are number 1 with teas.
