Friday Five

1. The beginning of this week was filled with tons of stress but thank goodness I listened to my prompting. Let's just say don't assume anything when you do your research. I learned a huge lesson. Mega huge. Later, I will post the whole scenario so others might not make the same mistake I did.

2. Still looking for fun swag to put in my giveaway coming next month!

Here's one photo:

But I just found this Audrey Hepburn bag on Amazon for under $6. What do you all think?

I'm filling it with signed copies of NO MORE GODDESSES and CROSSED OUT.

Some of my swag ideas include a gift card to In and Out Burger; $15 iTune card, $10 Claire gift card

Plus temp tats; bookmarkers; some of Selena's bubblegum/candy stash

WWAHD buttons.

And other fun stuff! Check back on August 3rd for more details!

3. Read

The first book in this series was a nominated 2012 Cybils book. I loved the voice and couldn't wait for the next book!

My YA Books Central review:http://www.yabookscentral.com/yafiction/14212-a-darkness-strange-and-lovely-something-strange-and-deadly-2

Teaser:

Lush Victorian Parisian setting with characters you can't help but care about. You'll want to invest time knowing them. Add a dash of romance, mystery, suspense, and horror. A great combo for fans of the first book in this series and for those who love zombie tales.

4. Right now reading:

Let's just say I'm a huge fan of past lives stories mixed with paranormal elements! Really enjoying this story and love the romantic angle too!

YA Books Central review coming soon!

5. Son's been in a Lego film making class this week. Later today I'm invited, along with other parents, to see his movie!

**Guilty pleasure:

Yay! Skin Food just called and told me they have more of their coffee body scrub in! This stuff is fab! Love it! Skin Food is a Korean based skin care company. Love their products. I have sensitive skin and other skin issues so I'm really excited when I find a product that works and isn't that $$$.

I also love their rice wash. It's very gentle and so far I haven't had a rash or any other kind of reaction.

After the blurbs about the paranormal books, I had magical creepiness on the brain, and when I got to your mention of "Skin Food" I imagined something along the line of cannibal hillbilly snacks! Sorry. I hope your skin enjoys its food! :-)

Lexa, LOL. Too funny! I didn't think of that but yeah I just Skin food would bring up that image!

Jessie, this is book 2 of the Transcendence series. Both are really good! C.J. Omololu mixed past lives, mythology, and the paranormal.

Kelly,

Thanks! Right now I'm trying to find a candy that reflects my book too. So far no scarab gummy worms though...
